Our promise to you
None of the information that we collect on this web site will ever be sold to any third party.

Information we collect
We collect the following information from persons who choose to register as member:
  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • E-mail address
  • Major area of interest
  • Person's professional area (optional)
  • Person's/organization's web site (optional)

This information is only used to identify individuals interested in the science of information and the activities
of the Institute in particular. Much of this information is completely voluntary as a condition of becoming a
member. The rest of the site does not require the submission of this information.

We collect the following information from all our visitors:

  • IP address;
  • Referrer.
This latter information is automatically collected from our web server logs and is only used to see who
is visiting our web site. This latter information is not saved on our server for a long period. It is not shared
with any company; only used to better serve you.


Cookies
Cookies are tiny data files that web sites commonly write to your hard drive when you visit them so that
they can remember you when you visit. A cookie file contains information that can identify you anonymously
and maintain your account's privacy. Our site uses cookies to maintain a user's identity between sessions

Because we are not collecting sensitive information on this site, the information is not protected by Secure
Sockets or other security software. However, we have put in place managerial procedures to ensure proper
use of the data by the Institute.

The Institute may change this privacy policy from time to time. The Institute will notify you of any such
changes by posting notice of the changes on the Institute's homepage. If you object to any such changes,
your sole recourse shall be to cease using the Institute's web site. Continued use of the Institute's web site
following notice of any such changes shall indicate your acknowledgement of such changes and agreement
to be bound by the terms and conditions of such changes.
